December 29

First a little story about December 29, Mexico's equivalent of April Fools' Day! The custom is, if you ask to borrow something from someone on December 29 and if the person loans it to you, you do not have to return it. If he asks for it back you say, "If you are foolish enough to loan me something on December 29, you do not deserve to get it back." Presumably this applies to money, cars or electric drills... I hope there is some secret handshake or something that gets you out of this.
